How do you like that FE 55 after using it for awhile?
Optically I find it superb. I am no big fan of AF and the FE type of MF-compromise, still I have found myself using it more and more. After all AF is convenient and the type of AF used in the A7 is almost always accurate (as opposed to a traditional phase detect AF). Optically 5 out of 5 stars. Overall usability raised from 3 to 4 stars quite recently :-)

A friend who wants me to buy his C/Y Tessar 45 sent it to me to check out. I've also got Derek's G 45/2 on loan for a bit. I'll do some comparisons if I get time, but the G is consistently better across the frame (the Tessar's extreme corners never get good) and the G has better micro-contrast. Still, the Tessar's no slouch, and it's tiny, which is both good and bad. It's a great fit on the a7 with adapter, very light and small. But the focus ring is millimeters thin and the helicoid very short, so I find focusing fussy. I do like the results.
These are cross posted images from the Sony A7/A7r thread and are some images that I took last evening a little before sunset of Muscari "Bluebells" at Lock Ridge Park, Alburtis, PA. Images were taken with my tripod mounted Contax (C/Y) 21mm f2.8 Zeiss Distagon lens and my Sony A7r. Images processed in LR5.4.
