Nice, I got the plain RRS mount (without grip) and have been very pleased with it.
I ended up getting the Luigi leather wrist strap and it's a joy to use.

Anyone with the X100 experience times when you turn on the camera and nothing happens. It's done this a couple of times, where I can hear and feel the focus group move, but the camera won;t power up. Then after a few minutes, it comes to life. I have the quick start mode off, but I can't imagine it taking five minutes....

I normally press the shutter button to wake it up, no problems with long startup just a few seconds (not exactly dslr fast but workable).

Wow, seems to be a mass exodus of X100s in the FS forum. Prices are ridiculous! I planned on selling mine to fund the Xpro 1 but damn, not gonna give it away!

Some nighttime shots from walking my dog a few days ago, and a snap of my wife and girl from a greasy spoon breakfast joint - I liked the feel of that one.

Cheers!

Cheers, it was a great morning and made a real change from the recent mild/damp/cloudy mess of a winter we've had so far in the UK.

Just got an x100 and really like it so far. The biggest issue im having is with the slow af.

I keep reading about people using aeaf button on back and focusing manually. Can someone explain the setup and how you do it? Coming from the 5n the x100 manually focus isn't as easy so I'm trying to figure the best way to mf in situations when af on the x100 just doesn't cut it.

It's basically using the AFL button on the rear to engage the AF but it has a number of advantages once you get used to it. To do it, simply put the camera focus switch on the left side of the camera to MF. From then on, use the AFL button to AF on whatever is in the center box of your OVF frame. The advantage is you can pre-focus on something at the correct distance and then keep shooting quickly without focusing again - so you can use it as a sort of zone focus tool. The other advantage is that once you have pressed the AFL button to focus, you can then move your thumb right up and press in on the black lever right above the AFL button to quickly switch into a magnified EVF view through the finder to confirm focus. Pressing this button again takes you right back to OVF mode. Also, when you use this EVF magnify mode, if your not in focus simply press the AFL button again to refocus. With practice, it can be a very useful tool.
