i keep going back to this image. the square, wide lens, and fine grain is just perfect applications. the hasselblad worked so well on this and you'd think it was something straight out of the 17th century. superb
Compass Barrel Cactus near Fountain Hills Arizona Nikon AFS 80-200 F2.8 lens plus Meke 20MM extension tube used. These cactus tend to lean toward the Southwest, hence the name.

I first shot with tubes using the first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera ... a Lumix G1. These days I prefer a helicoid adapter. Here's one of the tube shots. Lemonade
This was taken a few years back. It's actual size is about the size of two USA postage stamps. I don't usually do many true macro shots, but have the macro stand with lights and camera support for doing this in my studio. I once did quite a few of these for a friend.
