It has been several months since I have been on FM, wanted to post the series of images I took this last weekend in Jacksonville. It's hard to find a board where the members will still give you a good critique and that is one thing I remember about this place...y'all have teeth and use them

I am almost strictly a studio shooter so I was 100% out of my realm this weekend and that was the whole point, let me have it!

#1-5 was bare sun, no reflector, couldn't get the other model to figure out how to use it so I had to wing it.

#6-8 was a 50" gold Photoflex reflector, set below her in the window on the stairs and held in a window across the room for #8

#9 was an Alien Bee on a battery with a 2' box - Never shot studio outdoor before. 50" reflector to camera right to fill at around 4-6' from model

I love the shots. beautiful models and I want to be some seaweed....
Her eyes on #2 kind of bother me. They almost look too glassy if that means anything. Other than that, I really like the lighting for #1-5 and the B+W conversions look great.

Ya, the eyes in #2 are glassy, from what I can tell it was the angle the sun hit them, she loves it so I edited it for her. The B&W conversions are the same as all my shots, for the most part, straight from my 5D

WOW. Love 1,6,7 lovely lighting on #9

Not sure if I would have kept the "UFO" lighting spots on #9 as they take some of the attention away from the modell.

they are all outstanding, except in #4 her legs look like she's broken. #9 is the freakin awesomest though. (and i think the "UFO" lights are part of what makes it awesome)

Some weird poses, though, of lovely, lovely women. Looks like limbs sprouting from odd places. Some cropping of extraneous torsos would help, too.

These are great.. but No.'s 3-5 crack me up, being a Floridian, all I can think of is.. I hoped he checked that seaweed before she put it there!! Usually you can find nice things like Portuguese man o' wars and some medical waste in them!!

She looks great in number 1. You captured her nicely. The image looks a touch oversharpened though.

Your work with the lighting in 6-8 is spectacular! Beautiful work, Daniel!

As I say before, I love your work here. #5, #2 and #3 are my favorites, but the pose is #4 is really weird to me.

Thanks for sharing and I hope to see you a lot more around here.

(And we still need to get together for that shoot!!!)

charles - i first thought about the seaweed on S. Beach with waste too ...

... then i thought about the noseums and other satellite insects which usually orbit the clumps ... i bet that summer's eve ended w/ calamine or benedryl aha ...
