Dear everyone,
My name is Michael LEVY, i am a french photographer / designer / publisher.
Big fan of this forum since a long time, i come sometimes to post some of my photos (too rarely i admit, i am more a forum reader).
Seeing some of you wondering about Iceland best locations, i thought that you would be interested to know that i designed the very first map of Iceland made for photographers and everyone who loves great landscape locations.

you know, i was checking on flights on random dates, and in July of 2013 tickets were like $2K rt from PDX to Iceland, but in April, they were $600.. this was several weeks ago

Ha! And I'm even closer, living in the UK... To be honest, plane tickets are not that bad... the problem is that there are so many other things to see in Europe for a much much better price than Iceland prices (hotel, tickets, food etc). This really adds up especially if you are on a student (postgraduate, but nevertheless student) budget..
But Iceland is so landscapy unique... gotta go there at some point...

Everything on this map is dedicated to photography!
The map shows essential route information, detailed descriptions of all areas of interest (volcanoes, waterfalls, lighthouses, monuments, fauna, flora, and curiosities), as well as national parks and nature reserves.
You will also find hours of sunrise & sunset, lenght of day & night for every month which can be very useful in Iceland !
Yes Iceland can be expensive (specially the car rental), but yes it is truly a paradise for photographers.
My next maps in 2013 will probably be Southwest USA, Scotland and New Zealand.

Hi Andy,
As i said, The map for Utah is already on the way.
In fact I am working now on 5 similar maps for the SOUTHWEST USA with one of my friend who is for sure one of the very best specialist in the world for Southwest (write in many guides).
He just knows every single stone in the desert and the best time to photograph it!
Should be out in 2013, I will keep you updated about this.
I would really appreciate if you leave a message once you've seen / used the map.
It will be very useful for the next printed editions, and digital version.

After one year of hard work and research, two expeditions in Iceland (summer 2012 - winter 2013), I'm am proud (and excited) to be printing now The 2nd edition of the Map of Iceland we created for landscape photographers.
