I recently purchased a used Canon 1D Mark II N and there were a few items missing from the box and I could use some advice on transferring images via a Mac Book Pro.
The main item missing is the Firewire cable. Is there a particular cable I should purchase? My MacBook Pro is a late 2010 model and I believe the port on the laptop is a Firewire 800 port. I suspect the Camera Firewire is running at 400 or less based on the manufacturing date of this model camera. I also want to get this connection between the MacBook and the Camera working so I can do some tethered shooting. I did receive the instruction manual for the camera, but it only references the Firewire cable on the system map page. I did receive a standard USB 2.0 cable with the camera, but based on the manual, it looks like that is only used to connect the camera to a PictBridge compatible printer.
All of my previous Canon Cameras have used the USB cable for connecting to the Mac or PC so this is my first experience using a Firewire based connection.
I usually get my cables from FireFold.com. They have great prices, and the quality is superb. Shipping for a couple of cables is usually only a few bucks too.
