Anyone interested?

I'm out of town at the moment, but I'm really interested in what others are doing and have done with their MFT cameras. I picked up a Panasonic G1 with their 14-45, 45-200 and 20mm f/1.7 and am pretty impressed with this camera's capabilities. My other cameras is a Canon 5D II, so my standard of reference is pretty high.

I think MFT is a big deal as far as innovations go. I think it has a long future ahead of it. As soon as I return home, I'll post some pics of my own. In the meantime I thought I'd get an MFT ball rolling.

If this kind of image thread already exists, please point me to it. I couldn't find one.

I don't really think m43 is such an *innovation*, but I think the Pens are super-cool.

I've had my E-P1 for a little over a year now, and I love it. I shoot almost exclusively with the Panny 20/1.7 and the Voigtlander 40/1.4 on it, though I have adapters for Canon and Minolta, so I use a Rokkor 50/1.4, 135/2.8 and Vivitar 70-210 quite a bit too. I like my 1Ds II better, but the E-P1 has gotten a LOT of use, and it's my 'take anywhere' camera. I've taken over 5000 shots with it this year, so it definitely has gotten good use (compared to about 20,000 with the 1Ds II)

Wow lots of great shots... I particularly like the child and leaf images!
I use SLR for 99.999% of my work, but my e-p1 + 17 f2.8 is my point and shoot camera. I love the simple handling and outstanding image quality.

I was at an elephant orphanage in Nairobi Kenya this June on a shoot, when I saw a bunch of kids trying to touch a baby elephant... perfect for my e-p1.

I ended up selling my GF1 though as I didn't love the look of the RAWs in LR. Something always felt off to me. I also didn't love the size really, not quite small enough? I'm considering trying again with a NEX5 and 16 though...

it's certainly the least attractive visually (especially with that ridiculous looking kit zoom), but i do like it's handling and controls with manual focus lenses much better than the oly's and the gf1's.

jacobsen1 - great ski shots, i especially like the last b&w one.

16mm would be the only lens I'd get. I'm a wide guy and while I REALLY liked the 20mm on the GF1, the 16mm on the NEX would suit me better. It doesn't look terrible with it and it's smaller than the GF1 so it's better for me.

thanks, it's a 4 shot stitch with the 20.

I loved the GF1 but something about it's shots in post bugged me. I never could get the colors exactly where I wanted them. Not sure why but it just bothered me. I'd love to try the NEX and maybe an EPL1 for that reason, see what they look like in post. The NEX's 7 fps would be fun for skiing as well.

I haven't used the Sony so I can't comment too much. All I can say is if you like having dedicated buttons/knobs/dials/doodads then you'll feel at home with a Panasonic GF1 minus the OVF.
