Had a very productive weekend in Arkasas again hanging out with Barry and his friend Lee. We had strong storms come through and the water was high for the falls. We shot both Sat. and Sun. On Sunday you could tell the water level was already lower which tells me most the waterfalls we are looking to shoot will be worthless unless it has just rained.
But we all were fighting keeping our lenses and cameras dry and clear.
Every other shot or so, I would look at the lens and it would be covered in mist.
Even with all the wet gear I had with me, the water and wetness was an issue to deal with.
Here are a few of my favorites.
Still have a lot of editing to do but I am pretty tired today.
Will post more later.
Really good stuff, Keith. I dig the unusual wide look at the Glory Hole! Excellent!!
Love the look at Eden in the 7th....nicely seen.
And the last two are very cool, but it helps to have been there!
You caught the flavor of the weekend very well.
Had a great, if wet, time with you this weekend!
Looks like you had a cool time with Barry! It's cool to see all that water flowing in these shots.
My hands down favorite is #5. Awesome look there. #6 and 7 also look very nice. In #3, it's a nice looking shot, but you have one spot in the upper right where some leaves are in focus and sharp, it's a small circle of clarity in an otherwise diffused background. I would blur over that a bit, just so that it fits in with the rest of the shot.
Lotta shots to contemplate Keith - I really like the Glory Hole image in #2 the best. Something about that scene is fascinating to me. #5 and #8 are the next two that catch my attention a lot. Both are nice comps with very even lighting and a nice color palate. #8 is nice for the reflected light off of the lower foreground - the resulting highlights along the cave walls works really well for this one.
A nice series. Looks like a nice spot to visit. I'm partial to the first and the next to the last of the series. The first for the posts namesake and the beautiful greens that you captured, the other for it's subject matter.
Awesome set here digging those triple falls with that diffused light look very cool, indeed looks like a very productive trip. Looking forward to seeing many more from your trip.
Thanks again everyone for you comments and compliments.
I have a desert trip coming up, then I will get back to Arkansas for a few more times before the summer heat sucks the life out of us around here.
