My 35/1.4 is AE version, and it has mirror clearance issue with 5D mkII, wide open or not at any focus distance.

Do I need to file down something at the rear element?
The adapter I'm using is fotodiox ....

Optically it's better to not file the rear lens element ....
I had to file my mirror on my 5D.

Joop, grat cow photos - it really shows off the characteristic rendering style of the 35/1.4.

But, technically, can it be done so that it clears the 5D's mirror?
I rather not touch the mirror of the 5D MkII.....

The mirror hangs the protective flange when it is in the top 20 % of itīs travel so I filed the top part of the flange on my lens. I wrote about it somewhere in this thread.
My 35-70 went through the same procedure.

Or get the rollei... Luka has mine. Ask if you can buy it :-)

I love that creepy cow.
This thread has made me re-think my photographic direction. Andreas and Luka you guys should be on retainers, your images and those of others here are life changing.
Thank you.
But I agree with Joop, less talk more images, please.
Steve
