Boy, that pretty much answers all of my questions!
My sister-in-law is Swedish. She says that it tells the reader that Canon will unveil new products on August 26th, but is happy to have you read this to get the rumor mill churning, as it is the best advertising money doesn't have to buy.
I saw the posts on DPR where someone clarified that it was posted by the editor of a very respectable Swedish Photo magazine, and it basically said that they have already been invited to a Canon event on Sep 22nd, but that Canon has now invited them to an event on Aug 26, to see the latest EOS products.
Now, if some Swedish brother or sister is hanging around, please confirm.

It says that Canon are presenting new products 26.08.08 9:00 am in Stockholm. The site will cover this event, they`re invited. It`s a serious site.
No-one's having a go at "non-North American" I'm obviously British myself, but as I posted above, I can't help but wonder why it would be the Swedish YMCA that got the news that no-one else has yet...
..don't get me wrong, I've got about £1500 squiralled away to buy a 5D, and I'd LOVE for Canon to release a 5DII that competes directly with the D700, but I'm not holding my breath that this is the release that heralds it.
