My first air show...photographing one that is...strictly a hobby...I shot some video too...Great fun!...these pilots must love what they do...I'm jealous.
The weather was a true mixed bag last Saturday...overcast...some breaks in clouds...some rain...borrowed friends 70-200mm f/2.8 L
Rob,
I like your shots. I'm thinking about doing the Cleveland Air Show this year with a 40D and 70-200. Did you use an extender? I think the 70-200 alone is my best bet.

No extender... the 70-200 alone on the 20D was it that day.
Have fun at your show... look forward to viewing yours.
Some of the shots have a considerable color cast (mostly cold). I would recommend still checking the color balance and contrast for most of the images.
Very nice work, I like Air Shows. In June I attend an Air Show in Karup Denmark. I brought my Nikon D70 and a brand new Nikkor 70-300 with me, and had just to learn. I attend for two days, the first with the though guys, the spotters, and return with more than 100 photos of the blue sky, and a bunch of unsharp pictures, but the next day I had learn the lesson, and the 70-300 mm was working hard on AF, and did a excellent job. Highly recommended for Air Shows, specially in combination with the RAW format.
