For some reason, when I make a image mode conversion to Lab color it fills the image with black and I can't remove. This happens regardless if the file is a raw, tiff, jpeg, or psd image. I've never had this happen before and I can't seem to find a way to correct the problem. I've never had this happen prior to yesterday. I did update camera raw through bridge recently.
I would appreciate any input or suggestions how to fix this.
Regards,
Randy
The following are screenshots as the image is being converted and the result. This was a raw (Nikon nef) file converted with ACR. This image is unimportant, just used as an example of the problem.
The first step to troubleshooting Photoshop is to reset preferences:
While launching Photoshop, Hold down Alt+Ctrl+shift on the PC or Cmd+Option+Shift on the mac.

This step successfully removed all the settings I have set in preferences but did nothing to eliminate the problem I'm having. Look at the channels pallet shown, the Lab channel shows as solid black. It's almost as though you've instructed PS to fill with black.
