Here's a quote from his web site: "The posting date for the next installment of our ongoing EOS-1D Mark III autofocus analysis, one that will cover the sub-mirror fix, has slipped into the week of November 26. Please accept our apologies for the delay". Wonder why is that? http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/content_page.asp?cid=7-8745-9173
I saw that also. However, he doesn't state what is wrong. I got a 551xxx yesterday. I've only been able to test for a day. I've never as much problem as others on a 534xxx body, but I have seen AI Servo ranges with shots OOF in them. In very limited testing the 551xxx body has been spot on. I can't say the problem has been fixed, but so far I don't see any problem.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions based on one post with no explanation of what they are seeing and no shots. There are other posts with shots saying it's working fine.
i think Rob is Canadian, thus he won't be eating turkey this weekend cuz us Canadians have already had our turkey day.
it could simply be that Canon has asked Rob to hold off, for some reason or another. either way, who cares. i just want my crap fixed- i don't care how they do it or who else's camera is botched!
I am not to worried as my BD works so much better than the other two bodies I had. I am more interested in his view to confirm my findings. Shooting what I shoot it is easy to tell the difference and improvement..

Paratima, you are absolutely right. Millions of these cars were sold..but not because they were great cars. It was because back in those days we did not have the blessings of the internet. By the way I have not seen a running pinto lately...plenty of '57 Chevys though. LOVE THAT CAR.....

I think Rob is from Calgary, Alberta. I just checked the weather network it is 1 degree Celsius (33 Fahrenheit) there today. So, it seems he would have to go somewhere else for the test. This is probably the hold up.
I do not think that its a weather problem for Rob something else is the problem and I think that even we accept his apologies we will have our question why we are waiting so long for such a test....
Funny thing is accepting or not accepting his apologies for doing the readers a favour.
I am having a harder time understanding why this is even a thread.
All that read or will read the article should thank him instead.
If you had bothered to check out the post the guy was a Getty photographer of high standing, and probably uses his mk3`s more in an hour than 99% of the guys on DPreview do in 12 months.
