seems like only 85 1.8G offers 20% off while the rest are not much bargains anyway. Nikon needs to be more aggressive if it really wants to improve its numbers.

Actually ratio wise there are better or same bargains than the 85 1.8G: 18-200 VRII is 30%, 18-300 is 30%, 24-120 f/4 is 23%, 50 1.4G is 23%, 85 3.5 is 20%...
although I agree that the more expensive models should have the same discount ratio.

I wonder if sellers of these lens used will be lowering prices? I've been looking at the 70-200, and used prices have hovered around $1900. Now that a new lens is $2100 (with USA warranty); seems that the used prices should adjust to reflect the new market. Is $1600 used unreasonable now?

IF the sellers want to sell the lenses fast, they will - but I suppose some will just wait until after March 2nd, since this is just a temporary rebate.

The value of Japanese Yen against USD has already dropped back to that of 2009 level. If this trend continues, we won't be surprised to see that more aggressive price-cutting Nikon will roll out in the next few months.
