Hi All,
It's a purple day
Purple Licious... purple and delicious ... Why on earth do I want to eat that flowers ? Anyway, I am out of word for the topic so I guess this what i comeout with. These were taken using 10d + 135 mm.
Number one is really nice. The other colours ones suffer a bit from the flower being in the middle of the frame with too much negative space above them. Try moving the flower up a bit — you know, the old art rule of thirds. it is a good place to start with composition.
Colors came out great here and the color ones are tack sharp!
The rose is not bad either, a little light maybe? Seems a tough one to make to me. Compliments.
In addition to Lara's comment: #1 could also look great with a square crop (assuming that tis is a full frame).
These are beautiful captures. I like #3 with the water droplets on the petals. Water droplets on flowers always attracts me :P
#4 is nice too - perhaps you can try rotating it 90 degree clockwise, so that the bright white patch is "supporting the picture" at the bottom? It seems a little unbalanced to me now with the white patch on the right. Just a suggestion

Absolutely beautiful........Love the colors AND the backgrounds........
Pssssst!!!........Did you use a tripod this time!!!!
.....Dave
Thanks a lot , Dave. Glad you enjoy these.
I didn't use tripod. I got good light that I was able to get high enough shutter speed to freeze the pictures, also I took these with 135mm which is so much lighter than the 300mm. Plus I have more muscle now from lugging the 300 around... ...
The B&W is gorgeous....if ANYthing, I'd give it an EVR-SO-SLIGHT top-left crop to hide that dark spot...for some reason my eye gets pulled there when it should be getting pulled into the center. Absolutely stunning tonal range though....love em all!

Hi Lara,
Thank you for pointing that out, I'm really glad you did, these sort of critics will improve my skills. I appreciate your feedback.

Thank you for the Compliments, Chris. The B&W is hard to make, I'm actually still experimenting with that.

Yes, they are all full frame, I should have cropped them to make it off center, I got lazy........ Thanks for pointing this out.
