A sample of shots that I took at the Singapore Zoo.
Orang Utangs are perhaps our closest cousins in the animal kingdom, and they exhibit very similar mothering instincts as humans do, downright to the expressions on their faces as well. Although these orang utangs that I took are already tamed (from living in a zoo environment), I believe such characteristics exist in orang utangs in the wild too. Unfortunately they may be getting extinct soon by 2023, according to a National Geographic report (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2003/09/0930_030930_orangutanthreat.html)
All photos were shot using a D30 and the 100-400IS at 400mm. 3 megapixels is not enough to resolve the fine detail on the orang utangs' faces nicely and thus the full-res versions are rather mottled-looking unfortunately.
