I just wanted to extend an extra thank you to @Michael Gurley from Canon for bringing the keys to the candy store this past weekend for the workshop participants. Mike brought with him just about every Canon lens from the widest fish eyes, tilt shift, macro and on through through 800mm along with numerous backs including the new 1DS Mark 4. Everyone had a great time trying out new lenses and backs and we really appreciate it.

Sunny Sra soo hmm yeah...edited the post to say 1d MK4 instead of Ids MK IV...and then proceeded to remove my comment...
I doubt Art posts his own updates...so whoever does his updates, deleted all the comments and started a new post. There was another guy who had posted about the 800mm...does it require its own truck or something.

Yeah, but he has and uses the 1d4... I can't imagine a scenario where he'd call it a new back. and back? What's up with that?
Not that I have a snowball's chance of affording a depressed dollar, struggling yen 1ds4 anyway, but it's nice to pine for one.
According to his blog, he's using a 1dsiii.
I work for Art Wolfe and attended the workshop this past weekend. Art asked me to write this update on FB for him, telling me what to say, and I simply made a mistake. We had new 1D MarkIV camera backs as well as 1DS MarkIII camera backs to play with - along with all kinds of lenses like the new 100 Macro IS and the newest 70-200 models... and I simply made a mistake when I called out the 1D MarkIV and added the "S" from the MarkIII.
Sunny Sra was actually the person who pointed out the error on Facebook, for that I am extremely grateful. I just wish FB would allow you to edit your status updates like they allow you to edit descriptions for photos for example. The only way to correct an error on FB is to delete everything and start over - hence Sunny's original comments were also deleted. Bad form, but what can you do.
There was nothing from Canon this weekend that wasn't a shipping product - after all there were 27 'students' at the workshop all diving in for lenses, camera backs etc. and it was certainly not the place for beta product or secret products or whatever.
I do apologize for all of the excitement I have caused by my error, especially to those who are taking the brunt of it.

No idea why you call them "backs", but 1DMkIV and 1DsMkIII are complete digital cameras (or bodies) in all respects. All you need is a lens and you are in photography business.
