So I'm driving down the road past the wetland where the Kestrels have been hanging out to pick up lunch for my wife. I just get into the turn lane when a large dark shape crosses my windshield and lands in the grass field next to a hotel. I hit the brakes and put it in reverse only to see a semi bearing down on me
I was able to back up enough to make the turn into the parking lot (and I had an accompanying loud horn going off as I parked, apologies to the truck driver ) Rolled down the window and grabbed the M4 with 70-200mm attached and this is what I saw.

A perturbed looking young RTH parading around with his wings outstretched
Well, Tom, it damn near was worth getting hit by the semi. That is one great series. Nice capture. The youngster has its supper. That is good. Just think only 20% of all redtails hatched live to be one year old. That first shot is spectacular and the ultimate look alike cobra shot is another great one.

Excellent action series. One of my dream captures is a hawk with a snake. It's frustrating to see so many hawks while I'm driving around but rarely do I see one when I'm specifically looking for them. Very well done.
AWESOME series....They say luck is when opportunity meets preparation. You had the opportunity and you were certainly prepared to nail the shots. Nicely done.
A lot of what goes into a successful shooting depends greatly on opportunities and you made the most of yours, Tom.
You did an exceptional work capturing this amazing action sequence. Each shot is sharp, well exposed and with a very nice tonality #4 is my pick.
