Well only a minute, I have got to get busy storing fat up, so I can hibernate this winter. Lots of bugs and things to eat. You are going to spell my name correctly, right? I heard you folks always get that wrong and publish the correct one the next week on page 47.
I will see what I can do... hmm, let's see that is T O D E, right?
That's T O A D pal
Got it.
Frogs can be tricky to find in the wild, you can hear them all over, but they hide pretty well. One easy way is to start when they are small:
very nice series! I like the center pic the best - the one with the green toad half-submerged in the water. The green just pops right off the muddy brown waters, and the concentric ripples around the toad grabbed my attention too - as if it had just surfaced up for a breath of air.
Thank you Wenyao, I appreciate your kind thoughts. It was pretty much like that a few moments before I got this shot, but the earlier shot I took had more motion blur and did not look as good to me.

#5 is well composed and executed Jerry. #6 would have been my pick if it weren't for that darn white foreground plant on the right. Okay, back to the pond and chop it down. Man I love it when I am not shooting and can be picky.

Gary
ROFL, yeah it is easier that way
My thoughts are the same on number six, I have been thinking about that PS magic stuff to darken it a bit
Okay buddy, I am going to fuss at YOU to get out there shooting again, how tall is the grass in that yard
Fun series Jerry. Number 6 is really cool, white blob or no white blob, the shot is still cool!!! Your images are REALLY sharp and very saturated. I have to ask what you shoot with.

Looking forward to more

I must confess Terry that what you are seeing is probably more due to that fact that I embed my monitor's profile in the jpegs rather than use sRGB for the web picts. That means that you are using a browser that supports that (A Very Good Thing), ones that don't tend to convert them to sRGB and the images do not look as saturated .
I shoot Canon digital (please no flames wars folks about which is better, I like shots from all brands!!!!!). I used to shoot mainly Nikon film, but for various long-involved-story reasons went with Canon for the digital stuff.

These are excellent frog families photos. Where was this taken ?
Is the place or lake closer to your house ?
Well Done Jerry !
Thank you Fionna! These were taken out at Otter Creek, it is south of Louisville, close to Fort Knox. I should be able to get back to the swamp that is close by where I live pretty soon, I have to balance stopping to get nature shots with which direction I am traveling for other things. This one was "close enough" since I do not really need much encouragement to stop for a shot .
Good morning Jerry.
Do you still awake ?
I guess you having fun visiting the swamp Are you gonna moving out pretty soon ? Well, I hope everythin goin well with you.

Big fun, Jerry! I think I like the last one best, that stealthy look is priceless. Very neat series here, well done.

, yeah I like that one as well. I want to try it again after I get that 1200mm with 20x TC combination (yeah right ) so I can have this huge frog stealthily coming into the photo.
