FS: Modified Canon EF 200mm f2.8L

I just ordered some new gear, so I\'m putting a few items up for sale to help pay for the purchase.

I have a near-mint copy of the original version EF 200mm f2.8L lens, which has been professionally modified to add a lens hood bayonet mount to the front of the built-in lens hood.

The only difference between the first and second versions of this lens is the lens hood - optically they are identical. Canon went to a larger, removable hood on the second version because of complaints the small built-in hood on the original didn\'t provide enough shading. However, the new hood is much larger and bulkier, making it harder to fit into a camera bag; the original was much more compact and easier to pack for travelling. This modified lens offers the best of both worlds, with the compact built-in hood plus the ability to add a much larger hood when needed.

I used the ET-83C hood from my 100-400L IS (not included) on this lens with great results; I believe other ET-83 series hoods would fit, but I don\'t have any others to try.

The lens includes the front and rear caps, built-in hood (no extra hoods included), and the original Canon Tripod Ring A(B) for C$700 shipped anywhere in North America.
I prefer payment by EMT (email money transfer, from Canadian banks only) but I can also accept PayPal if you pay their 3% fee. I will also accept PayPal gift payments if you\'ve checked my feedback and feel comfortable paying this way.

Here are some photos of the lens; the last photo is an example shot with this lens hand-held at f2.8 with my 7D.
