I think this is the strongest of the images I made this week. I wish I could have gotten my corkscrew photograph to have that WOW factor. I was getting close with the final re-shoot, I think, but something seemed to still be missing... As a friend pointed out, the spiral notebook was a navel-gazing boring shot, \"like taking a picture of your keyboard because you\'re too lazy to go find something good to shoot.\" The fan has interesting form, but then nothing else to say; I really liked the hair, but again I just couldn\'t figure out how to make it pull you in and go WOW. I like my chandelier but something isn\'t quite right there either (too closely cropped? too dark? dunno.) I love the \"red eye\" in the dog eye, but it fails on so many other levels (something to remember for a future shoot though! ;-) The cowlick is just boring; Fail! And the first flower has terrible bokeh, but when I went back to reshoot the flowers were dead. I think the spiraling beer was a contender, but in the end I think the coral vine has what it takes: simplicity, form, good eye leading, and it nails the assignment topic.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to C&C here! I\'d like to think that I\'m honing my skills with y\'all\'s help. :-D
