I don\'t think the problem is with people saying they subjectively prefer one lens over another.
From what I\'ve seen on FM and elsewhere, those who actually used both mostly preferred the Zeiss.
The problem comes in with attempts to claim that one lens is objectively \"better\" than another lens based on subjective criteria.
There is no chemical analysis to my knowledge proving that Chateau Pomerol is better than $4.50 boxed wine. But if people who actually tasted both say so, it would be unusual to call them names and demand that they provide scientific proof. I don\'t expect that from amateur photographers on FM either.
That said, you are right, most of the comments are subjective, not objective.
