Carsten, thanks for the 90 Cron AA review. I have been thinking about replacing my V3 with the AA, but I\'m not entirely sold on it. My reason for switching would be that the V3 isn\'t quite up to modern standards in terms of optical performance (plenty of CA even stopped down). What is stopping me is that I actually prefer the drawing style of the 90 V3...
In what situations? Post some samples, and I will try to reciprocate, although you will have to imagine the corners.
By the way, when are you going to give up that Nikon nonsense, get yourself an M9 and return from the dark side?
Have you sold your 5DII kit yet? There is your answer
I am having too much fun with the Nikon still, and find it very satisfying with the 21/50/100 kit I have now, and a C/Y 80-200/4 on the way with Leitax adapter. The 200/2 VR makes for a great zoo lens, as well as smaller wildlife, my daughter in action, and large-format-like stitched panos.
The M8 is not full frame, which is my main beef with it at this point, as it bothers me somewhat that my 28, 50 and 90 are not good focal lengths with a 1.33x crop factor. The 35 is okay, and I use it by far the most, and I do enjoy the M8\'s IQ and rendering, and had fun today making the few 90AA test shots, but it isn\'t the same.
I am still not 100% sold on dishing out over 5000 Euro for a camera I find a little out-dated and a little flawed (slow, low-res screen, no real chrome, still slightly IR sensitive, louder shutter than my M8u), so I am still fence-sitting for now. Besides, if I switch back (or start using both equally), I would need to come up with even more money to fix my wide angle hole, and I don\'t have that money right now. I think I could get along with 28/50/90 most of the time, but the 35 is just too good to sell, and I would need a 21/24 at least sometimes. I am currently wondering if I should sell my 28/2 and buy a 24/1.4, but I want to try one first. I could also get a 24/2.8, which is an awesome lens, but I am somewhat undecided. I like Zeiss lenses very much, but for me they are too much of a hassle on the M8/M9, so I am not going that way. The same for Voigtländer lenses, although I like them less.
