Re: The official Zeiss 35/1.4 thread

I took the new Distagon out again very briefly.. Some more notes.

1. Very hard to focus at f/1.4. Almost impossible (at least for me) to achieve precise focus, MFD / wide-open.
2. Bokeh monster. Absolutely brilliant bokeh.
3. Harsh CA wide open in contrasty situations.
4. Uber sharp (feels sharper than 2/35) at f/5.6.
5. Reds are hard to focus at close focus distances.
6. Colors are just absolutely gorgeous.. Greens and yellows are magical.
7. Feels like the lens has a split personality f/1.4 - f/2.8. Depending on focus distance and precise focus, it can be exceptionally sharp, but at close focus distances, struggles and seems like it belongs at the end of the line in ZE/ZF lineup for sharpness / pop.

Updated pictures are at the end of the set.

Now some pictures.. Sorry about so many flower shots.. I live in the boon docks . Click pictures for 1k size pix.

All shots were hand-held, basic RAW-> JPG conversion, sharpness at 30,0.9, Mask:10 - 15

1. Familiar ? (Paul Yi-esque!)
