I am trialling a Sony A850, and have the Minolta 24/2.8, 35/2, 50/1.5 and 100/2. A small, relatively light, kit.
But I use the Nikkor 14–24/2.8 and the 24 PC-E regularly, both for architecture interiors, and heavy machinery work.
There is nothing that I can see obviously in the Sony/Zeiss/Minolta range that can replace the 14–16 end of the zoom, or can tilt/shift like the PC-E. I have both axes aligned on mine and use shift for panos and tilt for DOF; irritatingly, there are times when I want both (like a tilted pano!) but can\'t easily do that. I am envious of the Canon shooters who have the great 17 TS.
The Zeiss 16–35 is reported to be soft in the corners at 16mm—but I haven\'t used one, so can\'t say.
Here\'s my question/dilemma: is there any combination of lens and/or adapter that anyone here can recommend that can address these two aspects of my shooting?
My considerations: UWA that has straight lines (or simple distortion, like the 14–24 @ 14mm), MF is fine, will consider Mirex + MF lens like a Mamiya 35mm—or any other suggestions!
I was looking at the Samyang 14, which looks great in the sharpness department, but has huge moustache distortion. And so on. All suggestions considered.
