Keep in mind that the 1.4x tele forces f/8 when zoom is extended fully.
200 f/4 to 400 f/5.6 on a FF body.
320 f/5.6 to 900 f/8 on a 1.6x 7D body.
1.4x + 1.6x = 3x
3X out of the box.. Wow!
I\'m certain someone will still add another 1.4 or 2.x just because they can for their favorite lunar / safari photo thread.
Where did the 400 f/5.6 come from?
This is constant 200-400 f/4 or 280-560 f/5.6. It only becomes f/8 if you added an external 1.4x as well.
