\"Active\" in Nikon land is if you\'re using the lens on an actively moving platform, like a helicopter, so perhaps Canon has used the same thing, seeing as this would be a great Safari lens.
Edit - ^ Bah nevermind, beaten.
This brings up the question though - would the IS be quick enough to actually activate in time between shutter depress and exposure? That seems awefully quick.
