Carsten, are you saying that to remove the Leica dot with something like a screwdriver that it\'s a potentially destructive process? You imply that one \'folds\' (bends?) the dot...

That\'s the easiest, but not only, way.

I know of two others. One is to remove the baseplate, unscrew all screws holding the plastic at the bottom, undoing the screws holding the top plate, removing the top plate, taking care not to damage the flexible wiring attaching the top plate to the body\'s electronics, and then to carefully push the dot off from the inside... I know this because I once followed this procedure to work a bit on the action of my shutter release, but I can\'t really recommend it just for removing the dot.

The last way takes a lot of time and patience, and I did this once as well. Get a matchbox, take a wooden match, and cut the sulphur end off. use the sharp edges of the match (which are much softer than anything they come into contact with) and alternatingly push up on the bottom of the L and the bottom of the a, twisting the dot back and forth. This takes a lot of time, about 15 minutes the first time I did it. Back and forth, back and forth, eventually it gets loose. You will need many matches...

Pushing in the dot is really the easiest way, but it does destroy the dot, so you need to have a replacement on hand.

That third shot is really good! Fools the mind\'s eye.
