A couple from my 50/1.7 (on Rebel XT)
I recently looked at some old wide open shots of my now retired Canon 50/1.4 and the Contax 50/1.7 and there is a definite difference in the way the DoF drops off wide open and even stopped down to f/2.8 with the Contax. Its very striking and it gives my shots at close to mid distance lots of presence. I love this lens at those distances.
Of course at infinity and stopped down is what its also known for...
...but I\'ve neglected that distance with this lens. I need to play with it more stopped down.

Maybe its due to how sharp it is wide open so the sharp to blurry is very striking but it gives my shots at close to mid distance lots of presence. I love this lens at that distance.
Of course at infinity and stopped down is what its also known for...
