I\'ll make a point of mounting some Nikkors for contributing to this thread...mounted on a Canon 5D,50D,40D and the Nikon D200.
I\'ve got thousands of slides dating back to the late 60\'s taken exclusively with Nikkor lenses.When I went digital a couple years ago,I sold some of my wider,longer and faster Nikkors to fund my foray into Canon bodies and glass.
It wasn\'t til recently now that I\'ve retired,that I started mounting some of these old Nikkors on Canon bodies and was surprised that some of the lenses did in fact shoot quite well digitally.
So since the first of the year I\'ve started buying back the very same lenses I sold...acquiring the 50mm f1.2,the 85mm f1.4,the 135mm F2 and a half dozen others.
Recently I\'ve been looking for a good to excellent copy of PC version of the 400mm f5.6 non-IF with the fluorite element,the following year these became ED glass lenses...I did acquire an ED version last week,but I\'m still looking for a good PC version.
A few months ago I sold my old beat up copy of the 180mm ED....so I\'ve also got my sights on a 180mm f2.8 ED,and hope to acquire a good copy of this lens soon,sure all versions of the Canon 70-200 are marginally superior to this lens...but the 180mm ED should be part of any good Nikkor collection.
Next on the agenda is finding a good 300mm f2.8 AI-S...preferably the second generation that has a minimum focus of about nine feet....after that perhaps the AF-S version which is quite good and somewhat better then the AI-S version.
Most of my Nikons and Nikkors here on the first page,though I still need to take pictures of some lenses that are missing....Nikon and Nikkor
