I got a 1.4x extender today and have been playing a bit with it and the 70-200 MkII. I\'ll post some samples later but I\'ll comment on the auto focus first.
On a 7D it degrades the speed of the auto focus and unless you set the minimum focusing distance to 2.5 m it hunts a lot. On a 5D Mk II it is harder to say as the auto focus system sucks without the help of the extender. Against static targets (single focus) it is certainly slower but in the servo mode it\'s difficult to tell where the camera is at fault and how much the extender helps it.
