ZE 21 \"mustache\" distortion. Many people dismiss this lens because they have heard of this, like it is some form of incurable, contagious, slightly shameful disease.
It is supposed to make the lens totally unsuitable for any architectural shots, by giving an undulated form to straight lines.
I now have over a thousand shots with this lens, and only one was affected to the point that it has to be fixed or trashed. Less than 5% were affected at all.
Here is one example of a building with as many straight lines as I could find. Maybe I am a reverse alcoholic, seeing straight lines when they are curved, but I rather think that this mustache distortion is a lot less bad than some people fear, and certainly not grounds for dismissing this fabulous piece of glass.
