Re: Post your 7D shot (Who actually uses their 7D?)
Hey, the below is not supposed to indicate anything about the 7D, I absolutely love the camera. But this is a jpeg I shot *this is the first BIF I have ever taken, ever with any body* 100% crop, the bird is tiny in the overall frame, handheld, an old 100-300L, slow (but sharp on stationary subjects). This is from someone with no bird experience whatsoever.
Again, I am happy, considering I have never done this ever before with non-IS glass not really suited to the subject matter, and this can be sharpened up, I am sure. It is really, really sharp in the context of the whole photo.
Hey, I know absolutely nothing about birds, should I even be expected to get a sharp image of a BIF at 1/1250? (and I was not panning with the motion of the bird at all, it just flew through the frame)
the overall pic, looks great to a non-bird guy like me, I can see peeling paint on door from a 1000 yards with the 7D, so I am not complaing, love the camera, just thought I would try a few Pelicans since they were around this morning at the Salton Sea where I was shooting landscapes and textures, my usual subject matter.
