Reading the entire thread, I think most of us have agreed that lens \"design\" does matter but that it\'s not the most critical factor. I think most of us have come the realization that as Samuli Vahonen puts it: \"classic art cues for 3D\" play at least, a very strong (perhaps the strongest) roll in producing the effect.
