I think we are seeing the limit of the 100-400. There is going to be lots of gnashing of teeth about how the 7D isn\'t sharp, but the real reason for that will be that its sensor will outresolve a lot of lenses which used to look fine on more forgiving sensors. This camera needs better lenses than any previous DSLR simply because it has smaller sensels. The 7D can do a lot better than this crop of the fighter, I am sure. Stick a 135 f2 on it and it will light up like an afterburner. This issue is worth considering though: the cost to get the best out of this camera may well lie in the required top glass. Canon seems aware of this, judging by the new EF-S zooms.
