Pull up the canon 1dMK3 on the left and canon 7d on the right.
On each side, go to the ISO 6400 still life photo and click through to the full res version.
Note the red fabric on the wheel layout…it sure looks like the lowly 10MP 1DMK3 is showing more detail than the 18MP 7D…or am I missing something?

I did a comparison of the 7D vs the 1DMkIII at ISO800, uprezzed both images to 10800pixels and took 100% crops, thi is what they looked like...
After uprezzing to equal size at 10800 pixels (36\" at 300DPI) the 7D seems to have more textural details.
However the 1 DMkIII has better colour rendition and less noise.
