Re: Canon EOS 7D Master thread
I was just looking at the GF-1 interface and noticed that it had a separate button for starting video capture. As soon as I saw that liveview/video is modal on the 7D I groaned. While the 7D looks like being an excellent all-round camera, it\'s hard to understand why elementary interface usability blunders are still being made. How is it preferable to have a liveview/video modal switch in combination with a start stop button? They design the camera like a 1998 web form. I frequently use liveview AND video. Canon\'s implementation means that I will constantly have to check the position of that switch, and switch it before starting a video when time is short, and will still often start liveview instead of video, and vice versa. In the worst case I will be walking backwards down steps at a wedding and will hit video record as the confetti flies, only to find that the video was not recorded because the camera was mistakenly in liveview mode. Please someone tell me that I am wrong or that there is a workaround for this interface blunder.
