A 3D? Not gonna happen....
It just did. It\'s called a 7D.
The 7D doesn\'t fall between the 5 and 1-series, rather between the X0D and 5-series. And IMO I wouldn\'t count a \'3D\' out.
The imaginary 3D that everyone has been clamoring for was never going to fall between the 5D and the 1D. The imaginary 3D has been around long before the 5D. Then when the 5D came out people pondered whether or not that was the imaginary 3D.
It wasn\'t.
Huh I\'ve been here a long time and I\'ve never, not once, heard anyone with a modicum of knowledge suggest that the 5 series was the 3 series. Canon has had this line up for a long time. The EOS 3 came out in 1998/9. Canon had the 1 series, the 3 series, the A2 (5 series outside US) and the elan II/e which was in effect the 7 series. The elan IIs were replaced with the elan 7 and the 5 series, if I remember right, was discontinued in 2000-2001.
The imaginary 3D was always going to be a camera above the XXD and below the 1D. It was logically going to have 1.6x sensor. It was hopefully going to have 8fps. It was logically going to have less than 45 AF points (due to the likely smaller sensor).
The 5D has nothing to do with this...the 7D, is the 3D.
The 7d is not now, nor has it ever been, a 3d or EOS 3 level camera. I think you need to go back and research the \"3 level\" camera and why it is that people wanted one. I remember the excitement surrounding this camera when it was released.
The concept of a 1.6x (i.e., technically compromised camera) body as a 3d is pretty much nutz... Sorry, I have to ask. Do you just make this stuff up because it isn\'t even remotely close to reality
