It does but its just a macro lens much like the Sigma, Nikon and Tammy. 135 F/2 with Tubes would be really really nice for abstracts. 135 F/2 will bring oomph with that color splash in the fore and background with shallow depth of field.
\"Just\" a macro lens ? Well, Ram, I tell ya, 180L is very special....more than \"just a macro\". However, rather than talk about it, let me show you a selection of images I got this morning within a time span of about 45 minutes, using 180L on a puny 8 Mp camera. No flash, no pods of any sort, all handheld.
I hope you can sense a bit of diversity of application here......and I haven\'t really got into candids, portraits, city scenes, architectural elements, etc, etc...
