Conrad, that looks like a sharp tern, well focused and framed, and you got her with a nice wing attitude. However, you might have overprocessed the image a bit.

Try to expose the bird for white feathers, let the cap go black.
Keep the PP as simple as possible, you shouldn\'t need much if the exposure is in the ballpark.
See this old example:
(1) JPG out of camera.
(2) JPG cropped.
(3) Level adjustment on the crop file + 300/0.3/0 USM.

If the sky is white/blown, see if a moderate PP intervention can improve the situation, if not, wait for blue skies/better light.
