The 1200mm MFD is about 46 ft according to the Canon Museum data.
I shoot ducks around 15-30 ft distant. I usually use 200/300/400 lenses for that.
No, the 1200 couldn\'t get me the shots that the $650 300mm f/4 non-IS gets me, like this one.
