I work on huge files also(sometimes up to 3 GB). Why run 20 history states? that\'s like having 19 copies of your image open. I never set this over 5 states and I rarely ever use one. Also if you are using 6 cache levels you are slowing PS down. Optimal setting for cache is 3. The only time to use more is if you are using a series of repetitive commands (that what cache is designed for).
