Re: Triggering a strobe and my 580exII with a ST-E2
It works with my ST-E2 and 580EX. Put the 580EX in Manual mode, on slave, and the ST-E2 will fire it, with no E-TTL preflash. It sets off my Elinchrom strobes no problem - I just tested it (and for some reason, I can\'t see very clearly right now). As bacilonur says, it won\'t do E-TTL, but I think it\'s best to work in manual mode anyway when you\'re mixing flash and strobes.
P.S. welcome to FM, cagester78.
I just tested it again, and it turns out there\'s quite a time lag between the 580EX going off and the strobe fioring (using it\'s builtin sensor). In order to capture light from both the 580EX and the strobe, I have to reduce the shutter speed to 1/8 sec, which is just too slow for most of what I do. So, I guess my suggestion isn\'t a practical solution.
