First Carl, I have no issues with you withdrawing this lens. It is a great lens and I appreciate all of the features of the 300 2.8. My next rant has nothing to do with you or this lens.
As a long time member of FM, I have seen many comings and goings on this forum. Recently there has been a rash of posts about pricing and what people find acceptable. Last I checked this is a free country and thus is founded on capitalism and a free market system.
In one post people saw fit to comment on early release re-sale of 5DII’s marked above MSRP. Some people thought this was price gouging or plain unethical.
In another post, there was a seller of CF card cases for $10. Some thought this was ridiculous and said the OP should just give them away.
In this thread, the OP used the term “asking” when it came to the price tag. This left room for negotiation. For some unknown reason, people saw it fit to comment on what potential buyers were willing to offer. Where did this become your job on FM to rationalize market pricing for an item? The value of a product or service is what a buyer is willing to pay. Like it or not.
I just don\'t get these negative post. Carl you did nothing wrong!
