I meant using the 40D as a 1.6x teleconverter. Because of the crop factor the 24 becomes a 37ish 1.4 lens right? Just like how a 1D III becomes a 1.3x teleconverter... Or is my logic messed up? =P
No, you\'re correct. If you use a cropped body, it\'ll squeeze in the shot. My brain picked up \'teleconverter.\'
I would also say to stick with your 5D though. It\'ll last you a very long time and save you some cash for more important things, such as lenses. Pick up another as back up when you start to shoot weddings.
If you want the extra reach, use a zoom or your feet.
