Re: nikkor to canon lens adapter experience?

Lucky,

Thanks to Tariqu\'s generosity, I was able to compare a genuine Fotodiox Pro adapter to the \"Widepan\" brand sold by Ebay HK retailers. (such as While they are slightly different, this difference is almost like pixel-peeping. In actual use, they seem the same. Both are aluminum, 2-piece, and give perfect infinity-focus. Both also give a tiny bit of rotational movement when installed, but this has yet to bother me at all, in actual use.

The Widepan is available from Ebay seller \" buyitjnow \" for price is $56 plus shipping.

THis may be a Widepan as well, for $50, delivered:

The Fotodiox Pro is around $90, IIRC.

There is also now a \"Bower\" brand that looks very similar, but I can\'t afford to keep experimenting right now. At $40, delivered, those might be worth trying:

The Novoflex supposedely has design issues.

The Camera Quest / Kindai may be superior (some say it\'s the same as the others) but it is just way too expensive to even consider, for me, since the Fotodiox-Pro type works great.

For chips, you can do as Justin suggests. Or, just get one of his chips and glue it on yourself.

There is also a new, user-programmable chip on the market. Sadly, it seems full of problems. Perhaps there is an Ebayer selling rejects, and the originals (more $$$) actually work, but I have yet to see any positive reports. See my thread on this chip:
