For example I am No 1 on the Perth pre-order list at one of the top Canon Pro Dealers (ordered well prior to the announcement). Canon have just advised their Perth dealers that there will obly be 2 or 3 5D IIs for the whole of Western Austrialia in the initial shipment in the next couple of weeks, a similar number later in December, and availability improving in January, but likely to be in short supply for a few months until orders settle down.
There is aparently a world wide shortage, with orders exceding availability by 10s or even 100s in some countries for the next few months. Canon know that somepeople will have placed multiple pre-orders etc.
