The "Red Admiral" and a "Painted Lady".
Here is the Identification Guide that was given out at the exhibit. I can see that both are very similiar shown by both of us.
I am leaning towards your proper id because "my" Red Admiral has the wings torn and the red only shows in that 1 place..
How about just butterflies?
The id is not real important and my eyes are old...
