Bought a couple of Thypoch Simeras (50mm & 75mm) earlier this summer and had issues with both. Contacted their support directly, and with the 50mm they informed me the (lens mount light leak) was a known QC issue, but they had a fix. So it may be that the lower serial number lens you got was (hopefully) fixed from one of their initial batches.
