This Gothic hall church, built between 1410 and 1610, has stood at the heart of Venlo for centuries. A place of worship has existed on this site since around the year 1000, with the first foundation possibly dating back to the 8th century. In 2019, the church was elevated to the status of a minor basilica.
The interior boasts several notable treasures: the beautifully carved baroque pulpit from 1701 and the impressive organ, built in 1952 by the Verschueren company. The current tower, completed in 1953, replaced earlier versions destroyed during World War II and now houses a 53-bell carillon, one of the largest in Europe.
